New Homes sell like hotcakes

A highly sought-after new development on the edge of Exeter is now fully sold and demand is high for homes on the adjacent site, following a surge in interest since lockdown restrictions eased.

All 63 David Wilson Homes at Minerva have been reserved and a final selection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes and apartments from sister company Barratt Homes are available in the same vibrant new community but interest is high.

The number of people registering their interest in a Barratt or David Wilson development in the South West went up by 82% last month on the same period last year, according to figures released by the nation’s leading housebuilder.

Minerva offers a range of stylish new homes suitable for first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers alike. Ideally located just 15 minutes from Exeter city centre and within easy reach of both the motorway and the train station, the development offers the best of both worlds with its beautiful 15 acre country park on site and access to the Devon countryside.

special discount is also available for NHS workers in order to thank them for their hard work and dedication during the Covid-19 crisis. 40% of the homes sold at Minerva since the scheme launched at the end of May have been bought by NHS staff benefitting from the 5% deposit contribution. A similar offer is also in place for members of the UK’s armed forces.

Nicki Reid, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes Exeter :

We’re delighted to see people recognising just how much Minerva has to offer everyone from first time buyers to growing families and people seeking a stylish and comfortable home to enjoy in their retirement.

With its wide range of beautiful, high quality homes on the edge of the city and within easy reach of the stunning Devon countryside, Minerva gives the best of both worlds. With access to the great outdoors never having been so important, the 15-acre country park on site means people living at Minerva have wide open, natural green space literally on their doorstep.

“Interest is high as people seek to make up for lost time through lockdown so we’re urging people to act fast if they’d like to secure a home in this growing new community.”

A range of safety measures and new working procedures are in place including protective perspex screens, retractable barriers, strict social distancing and, where necessary, personal protective equipment (PPE), plus smart video- doorbell intercom systems to enable customers to engage with sales teams before entering offices.
