Pancakespiration To Get You Flipping With Joy!
Grow Talk by Sofy Robertson
So here we are at Shrove Tuesday, a day celebrated officially by Christians that marks the last day before Lent and is associated with clearing your cupboards of goods such as sugar, fats and eggs. Nowadays, Pancake Day is almost an excuse to do the opposite and stock up on your favourite indulgences ready to make a stack of the ultimate pancakes. Although Shrove Tuesday remains fundamentally a day rooted in Christian tradition, it is widely celebrated by those outside of the faith.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be looking at today as an excuse to be a little greedy, all in the name of a national holiday. It’s also a great day to get experimenting with what is essentially a very simple and cheap recipe, and of course an opportunity to embarrass our loved ones by documenting their #flippingfails.
The fantastic thing about pancakes is their versatility; you can take the four very simple staple ingredients and add to them, creating a unique batter of your choice. Many opt for keeping the core ingredients simple and channelling their inner development chef for the choice of toppings. Whatever your style, Grow Talk are on hand to bring you Shrove Tuesday recipe inspiration.
Sweet or savoury, American-style or French crêpe, healthy or gluttonous, we’ve brought you the best foodspiration that the internet has to offer.
