Building a Lean, Mean Business Machine
In these testing economic times, business efficiency is crucial, but how to achieve it isn’t always obvious.
Some of the coveted strategies of how to achieve sustainable business growth will be presented by the Director of South West Growth Service and management consultant, Chris Lorimer as part of The STEMM Cell series of presentations aimed at the business community, at Exeter Science Park this spring.
His presentation, �?Lean mean business machine’ will focus on how businesses can be as productive and profitable as possible. The talk will be on Wednesday, February 7th, 5pm–6.30pm.
Chris explained:
“I will be talking about how to scale up a business without increasing costs, and how to increase operational effectiveness, as well as the importance of improving that all important connection with your customers and clients.”
“Business growth can be achieved by simply measures such as making sure your internal operations are flowing well, and all of your processes are working as effectively as they can be,” he continued. “Nothing should be wasted, and areas that aren’t adding value to your business need to be reworked.”
Chris Lorimer has an extensive background in commercial banking, including as the former Corporate Director and Head of Operational Excellence for Barclays. This preceded eight years as a senior manager in the education sector, first as the Deputy Principal of Bicton College and most recently as the Director of Marketing and External Relations at Exeter College.
These days, Chris advises all sizes of businesses and organisations with varying natures and predicaments, both in the public and private sector.
