Save the date for the city’s largest free jobs fair

Exeter businesses are invited to exhibit at the city’s next jobs fair on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, for the opportunity to connect with hundreds of high-quality prospective candidates.

Following the hugely successful fair in September 2017, which welcomed over 1,800 potential applicants and 60 businesses, Exeter City Council and Exeter’s Job Centre Plus are partnering up again to facilitate a second free-to-attend event at Exeter Corn Exchange.

100% of employers surveyed following the September event said it had been successful to them as a business, with over 50% of employers taking candidates they met on the day straight through to the next stage of the interview process.

Cllr Rachel Sutton, Lead Councillor for Economy at Exeter City Council, said:

“With high employment rates in Exeter, it can often be difficult for businesses to find candidates in the region. In bringing together jobseekers and firms from Exeter and the Heart of Devon, we’re certain we can support our city’s diverse business landscape further and continue to see it thrive.”

Leon Searle, Employer Adviser at Exeter Jobcentre, added:

“We were thrilled to see the huge success of our previous jobs fair and have taken all the feedback on board for our 2018 event. We’re looking forward to once again welcoming a wide range of businesses and potential candidates.”

Exeter Jobs Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 10am-2pm. The doors will open for employers to set up from 7:30am. From 9:30-10am, jobseekers with learning difficulties or additional needs will be invited to attend in a quieter and calmer environment.

Businesses who would like to attend should register their interest by emailing [email protected] to receive further information, or visit: https://exeter.gov.uk/jobsfair/

Firms who attend must have live vacancies, or have planned vacancies in the future. The fair is also open to those who are recruiting for apprenticeships or training schemes.
