An Inspiring Solo Show
All Content by Nadezhda
In the face of Covid restrictions and lack of exhibition opportunities, Exeter artist, Nadezhda, curated her own solo show at her new domestic gallery in the heart of Heavitree, which she opened to the public. Viewings were by appointment only, as every visitor was given a personal tour of the exhibition by the artist.
The exhibition showcased all of the large-scale paintings which were created during the 2020 lockdown and beyond, and featured inspirational Greats of the music and ballet worlds, including Miles Davis, Nina Simone and Nikolai Tsiskaridze. Nadezhda said, ‘The Covid crisis has affected everyone, and I want to bring beauty and inspiration to the people as a method of uplifting spirits and sharing joy. We are all in need of that right now, and this new initiative of opening my own gallery in the heart of my own community is my way of bringing what I do to a wider public, not just to those who visit galleries and museums.’
Nadezhda has had work accepted by the Royal West of England Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.
