Hawksmoor Posts Strong Growth and a Return to Profitability in 2017 Annual Report

Another successful year of significant progress has enabled Hawksmoor Investment Management to continue with its ambition to become a leading investment business in its regions of operation, according to the Company’s Annual Report and Financial Statements for 2017.

The Company’s 37% growth in total revenues and 41% increase in Funds Under Management (FUM) to over £1bn, were achieved not only via its traditional stronghold of the South West, but from its increased investment in its presence in London.

In addition, Hawksmoor’s Vanbrugh and Distribution Funds-of-funds had extremely successful years, making total returns of 10.5% and 12.5% respectively. The Distribution Fund passed the £100m mark in 2017, and both Funds ranked in their sectors’ top performance quartile, while displaying among the lowest volatility.

CEO John Crowley’s Strategic Report described how, following an extensive “transformative phase” of recruitment and restructuring, the Company has delivered an underlying profit for the first time since 2013, and now expects solid growth in both FUM and profitability for 2018.

He also underlined that Hawksmoor’s overriding objectives have remained the same as when he founded the Company 10 years ago:

• To maintain excellent performance with relatively low volatility across all investment mandates
• To provide the highest quality of service to clients and introducers
• To ensure robust systems, processes and operational procedures in the context of a highly disciplined management of the business to ensure a solid and compliant base to the Company’s operations
