Helping Disabled People in Devon Enjoy the Great Outdoors

HCT Turf are delighted to announce their partnering up again with local charity, Living Options Devon to run the June 2022 #ILoveMyDevonGarden photo campaign.

Supported by numerous organisations from across Devon, the aim of the campaign is to raise Devonians’ spirits and the much needed £1000 to refurb one of the Living Options Devon’s off road mobility scooters.

These scooters offer disabled people and those that have difficulty walking, the ability to access the South West’s most scenic locations as part of the charity’s Countryside Mobility scheme.

Neil Warren from Living Options Devon said:

“Being able to access the great outdoors has never been more important to disabled people across Devon. We’re so grateful for this fundraising opportunity which we hope will enable one of our longest serving Trampers to get some much needed TLC. This will guarantee many more special memories for families and friends enjoying beautiful places together.”

How to get involved

To join the campaign, Devonians simply have to share a photo of their garden to make us smile, laugh and lift our spirits. New this year, that could be featuring campaign mascot, ‘George’, mown into your lawn or created from other garden paraphernalia.

For every garden photo shared, HCT Turf will donate £1 to Living Options Devon. It’s really easy (and completely free) to get involved in the campaign.

If you’d like to, create a depiction of George in your garden (e.g. by mowing your grass or using materials)
Take a feel-good photo of your garden
Send the image to HCT Turf via their website at wesellturf.com/ilovemydevongarden-campaign/

The Golden Spade Trophy

Anyone that gets involved and shares a photo of their garden, will be automatically entered into the competition to win the coveted Golden Spade Trophy. The winner will also receive a Devon Hamper, made up of delicious goodies donated by the likes of Black Tor Brewery, Waterhouse Fayre and Four Elms Fruit Farm…to name just a few!
