The Salt Cellars in Budleigh Is Now Open

We are delighted to confirm that The Salt Cellars licensed cafe/deli & coffee shop is now open and trading in the heart of the community on Greenway Lane in Budleigh Salterton.

After an encouraging first week where the community got it’s first look inside the greatly transformed premises, we were excited to hear really positive feedback from our customer’s to the changes we have made and the locally sourced, quality produce we are offering. Having replaced a convenience store, we wanted to ensure that we continued to provide some of the essentials that the community relied on, all be it sourced locally where possible. So we are still providing items such as milk (sourced from Oak Park Dairy in Cullompton), bread (baked by Ryder’s Bakery of Dawlish) and cheese alongside our locally roasted fresh coffee (from Buzz coffee roasters of Sidmouth) and delicious cakes from The Crazy Brownie Lady based in Dunkeswell.’ advises Richard Charlton, the cafe owner. “We are excited to begin our evening opening hours this Friday the 17th - and will be offering a range of drinks from local breweries, cider makers and vineyards to enjoy in house alongside our newly developed sharing boards. We may even see if we can come up with a bespoke Budleigh cocktail or 2!

When asked what is unique about the new business, Richard continued, ‘We have aimed to set up a place that caters to the community as a whole. We have built good facilities for young children such as baby change and chalkboard tables, but also provide a quality destination for adults in the evenings. We are very much open to adapting to become the business that our customer’s want to use, so if we don’t have what you want on the shelves - please let us know! All of our staff are open to suggestions. We have built this business to serve the community and we hope the community supports us in return.’

The Salt Cellars cafe is open now from 08:30-17:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:30-21:30 on Friday and Saturday.

They can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone on 07400844102.
