GROW MAGAZINE DIGITAL EDITION - MAY 2020
One of the pervasive pressures of being a creative is the constant burden of creating
something new and different. As I sit down and type this letter to you, I feel that pressure.
But I’ve decided that there are no words of mine which can capture truth, convey emotion
or cut through the confusion of current events as well as these wartime lyrics written by
Ross Parker and Charlie Hughes and sung famously by Vera Lynn in 1939.
We’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny dayKeep smiling through
Just like you always do
‘Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds far awaySo will you please say hello
To the folks that I know
Tell them I won’t be long
They’ll be happy to know
That as you saw me go
I was singing this songWe’ll meet again
Don’t know where
Don’t know when
But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day
None of us know what tomorrow brings and what change awaits us in the coming months. That’s really scary.
But wherever you are reading this, pause for ten seconds, take a few deep breaths and
remind yourself – actually remind yourself – that we’ll meet again.
Stay well, stay safe and stay in touch.
God bless you.
