Devon & Cornwall Second Series Begins This Week

Devon & Cornwall Second Series Begins This Week

The ratings winning show ‘Devon and Cornwall’ is set to return for a second season.

The series, which will air on Channel 4 at 8pm on June 8th, sets out to reveal life in this beautiful corner of England beyond that enjoyed by the millions of tourists and holidaymakers that visit each year.

The unique landscape – with empty beaches and windswept moors, rolling fields and deep harbours, is the place a thriving community chooses to call home… all year round.

It’s a world that includes villages built on fishing, like Clovelly and Brixham, farming centres like Widdecombe with its famous fair, resorts like Torquay and Penzance, and even remote islands like the Scillies.

Devon & Cornwall ‘Best Place In The World’

‘Devon and Cornwall’ celebrates the people who have their roots here – those that have been here centuries, and those that arrived more recently and opted to stay.

Meeting farmers, fishermen, those holding on tight to ancient trades, and folk with a sense of adventure, Devon and Cornwall is a series to sit back, relax and escape into.

On Dartmoor we join father and son farmers Crispin and Steve Alford, as they prepare to host the annual charity sheep shearing competition. Visiting the Isles of Scilly, we meet Adam and Fiona Morton, who run a fish and chip shop on St Martin’s, catching the fish and growing potatoes right on the island. In the old fishing town of Looe, residents are all aboard organising a huge wild swim event. And just off Bodmin moor, cider maker Tom Bray is creating a special batch for a centenary knees up.

This time the series is narrated by South West born actor John Nettles, who before finding fame was born and raised in this part of the world, and now lives on his farm high up in north Devon within sight of Roughtor and Brown Willy in Cornwall.

He says simply:

“It’s the best place in the world!”

Devon and Cornwall series 2 starts on 08/06/2020 on Channel 4 at 8pm.
