Dartington Hall Trust Are Enormously Grateful For Anonymous Donation
By Sofy Robertson
An anonymous donation of £2 million has been given to the Dartington Hall Trust.
The money will go towards a five-year plan for the country estate, situated near Totnes.
The anonymous donation was made by a philanthropist who has been inspired by the work of Schumacher College co-founder, Satish Kumar. The generosity of the donation will secure the future of the College at the Old Postern.
CEO of the Dartington Hall Trust, Rhodri Samuel, explained:
“We are enormously grateful for this major donation which will enable us to revitalise our purpose and identity as a centre of progressive learning.
“Our work to restore learning to its rightful place at the heart of Dartington’s mission, sits alongside numerous other improvements around the estate including plans to significantly improve hospitality, expand and diversify our arts and social justice programmes, create pioneering rural homes and become an international centre of agroecology.”
“More information can be found about Dartington’s plans here.
“We will be hosting a public event soon to talk further to our community and friends from further afield about the exciting development and changes around the estate and the ways in which we are planning for the future.” (The Breeze)
Dartington’s vision for the future includes becoming
“a lab, a ‘think and do tank’ and a living classroom for a more open, unified and sustainable society where everyone matters.” (Dartington Hall Trust)
