Imran Khodabocus: The Family Law Company
Newly promoted Senior Associate Solicitor, Imran Khodabocus from The Family Law Company details his career and approach to family law.
My degree was in English Law with French and Spanish, and found me studying French and French Law in Lyon, and Spanish in Barcelona. I worked in Brussels and I speak German too, so I’m pretty versatile with languages!
I took up a training contract in Somerset at a large legal practice and stayed for 10 years, dealing with a wide range of cases including high value financial cases and sensitive cases involving children.
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 and joined The Family Law Company’s Children and Domestic Violence team in February 2016. It was an honour to become team leader in November 2016, followed in February 2019 with a promotion to Senior Associate.
I am on the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and the Law Society’s Children’s Panel, both of which reflect my particular experience.
Family law needs solicitors who can empathise with clients and children. As a family man myself I understand the stresses involved and keep the needs of children and protection of vulnerable clients central to all I do. Every situation is different and I like being able to offer solutions to families who are going through difficult times. Being approachable and a good listener is essential to this role.
