DASLS Legal Awards – A Night To Remember…
If this had been an ordinary rainy day in April, tonight would have seen a plethora of black bow ties donned, amidst a sea of chiffon, satin and silk organza. Given the weather, a little chilly for such attire perhaps, but well worth the effort as the occasion would have heralded a night to remember. The fabulous DASLS Legal Awards.
With the most nominations received in the history of the awards, it was set to be the highlight event of the year. The DASLS Legal Awards celebrates the legal profession in Devon and Somerset and has become one of the finest events of the year; celebrating the hard work and dedication carried out across the region.
In 2019, the event was celebrated in style at Exeter Cathedral with 480 guests in attendance. The evening didn’t disappoint, and with an overwhelming amount of positive feedback having been received, the magnificent venue was booked again for the 2020 awards.
Sadly, this is not an ordinary day, and these are unprecedented times. The DASLS and Grow team, disappointed that the hard work of the year couldn’t culminate in tonight’s prestigious event, remain positive. They are looking forward to the day when we can all celebrate together again, as a society, a city and a country.
DASLS President, Nigel Lyons said,
‘During this unprecedented time DASLS members are going to extraordinary lengths to provide their clients with support and advice. Solicitors are adapting to new ways of working ensuring that the interests of families and businesses in our region are safeguarded. We look forward to celebrating their achievements as soon as it is practical and safe to do so.’
Llew Nicholls from Grow said,
‘Our world has gone through a lot over the past few months since Covid-19 hit us. We have however, seen huge positivity and inspiration and the earth seems like it is breathing again. We take inspiration from this and look forward to the day that we can celebrate again, not only our fantastic legal profession in the region but as humans, working together to make this world a better place.’
Reinforcing that positive sentiment are some of the event sponsors who’ve come together to offer words of encouragement as they too look forward to toasting the successes of the best of the South West.
