Prince Charles Is Nuts About Squirrels!
Grow Talk by Sofy Robertson
Prince William has revealed that his father, Prince Charles, is completely obsessed with a certain type of squirrel.
“He is completely infatuated by the red squirrels that live around the [Birkhall] estate in Scotland.” (Page Six)
Prince Charles likes these furry little friends so much that “he’s given them names and allows them into the house.”
The Prince of Wales has long been an advocate for the environment and has frequently spoken out about conservation and climate change. In an interview with Time several years ago, he even admitted talking to his plants.
Prince Charles called the rodents “incredibly special creatures” and explained:
“They come into the house at Birkhall and we get them chasing each other round and round inside,” he said. “If I sit there quietly, they will do so around me.” (Page Six)
It seems that Prince Charles now comes prepared for encounters with his favourite creatures by keeping nuts in his pockets.
“Sometimes, when I leave my jackets on a chair with nuts in the pockets, I see them with their tails sticking out, as they hunt for nuts.”
So there we have it. What better way to brighten your Friday than an article about a squirrel-loving royal.
