Footage Reveals Exeter College’s New Digital And Data Centre
Exeter College’s new Digital and Data Centre is part of the South West Institute of Technology plan to revolutionise digital, engineering and manufacturing technology education across the region.
The new Centre is a £10.3million building which focusses on skills development in the Digital industry and the building itself is match-funded between the College and the SWIOT.
SWIOT aims to meet the skills challenges of the future by working with businesses to identify their needs from future employees. Key employers working on curriculum development for the Digital and Data Centre are Oxygen House and the Met Office.
Courses at the Digital and Data Centre will be available across the spectrum of the digital and data sectors at various education levels and facilities in the Centre will include state-of-the-art Digital Learning Laboratories, IT workspaces, seminar spaces and lecture and presentation facilities. Learners will have access to cutting edge equipment to help gear them up to transition successfully in to the digital or data sector.
Willmott Dixon are the primary contractors on the Digital and Data Centre and work on the Digital and Data Centre is scheduled for completion in early 2021.
