Get Your Face In The Exeter City FC Crowd!

Football will return to St James Park as Exeter City face Colchester in the second leg of the play-off semi finals.

But there’s going to be one vital thing missing – the cheering crowds!

The last play-off games have attracted huge crowds to the stadium – but this year things are a little different with the match being played without fans due to the impact of coronavirus. So, while fans are watching from home, they’ll still be able to feel part of the action and support Exeter City thanks to the club’s Grecian in the Ground campaign.

You can order your own cutout for £25 which will be placed in the stands for the play-off game on June 22 and any future matches which have to be played behind closed doors. The club is planning to get all the cutouts signed by a member of the squad and collected by fans when they can return to the stadium. It is also offering fans who live abroad the option to pay for the cutout to be posted to them.

The cutouts are made from polypropylene and are completely recyclable. The material is toxin-free so it won’t leach chemicals into the surrounding environment, additionally, it is durable, strong and weatherproof.

Keeping Your Seat Warm At Exeter City FC

Exeter City marketing manager Scott Palfrey said:

‘Coronavirus has had a huge impact on football clubs across all leagues, and Exeter City is no different, with the loss of matchday revenue hitting our finances hard. This Grecian in the Ground campaign is an opportunity for fans to support their club, and ensure they’ve got their face in the crowd for the play-off game and any future games which have to be played behind closed doors.

‘This is one way people can be sure they’re keeping their seat warm and helping the club to replace some of its lost match day revenue. So, we’re saying to fans to get out their hats and scarves and get snapping and help us create an amazing spectacle for the TV cameras which really demonstrates what a community club we are.’

Scott added:

‘And with Father’s Day on the Sunday before, we reckon it would make the perfect and unique present for football-loving dads!’

Orders will be taken until 9pm on Thursday June 18. Any orders placed after this time will be used if subsequent games are played behind closed doors next season. Exeter City cannot take responsibility for any cutouts which may be damaged during a match.
