Swcomms Donates Sponsorship Perk to Exeter Chiefs Fan
Exeter Chiefs’ main sponsor South West Communications Group gave a fan a day to remember as the club launched their new shirts for the 2018/19 season.
All the shirt sponsors were given two seats on the official team bus that transported the squad from Sandy Park to the Piazza Terracina on Exeter Quay yesterday.
swcomms took the decision to donate their seats as part of a prize that also included two new shirts and photos with the players, plus tickets to Exeter Chiefs’ pre-season friendly against Cardiff Blues on August 18.
Fans were invited to enter the competition via swcomms’ social media channels with the winner randomly selected on Thursday.
The winner was Sara Lobb, from Padstow in Cornwall and she took her sister Emma with her. She said:
“Thank you to swcomms and Exeter Chiefs for a fantastic day. Meeting players like Don Armand and Gareth Steenson was a dream come true. I am looking forward to the new season and am very excited about the tickets for the friendly.”
Sara and Emma had to hold back from sharing any images on social media while they were on the coach to ensure they did not break the embargo on the kit launch. Chiefs will play in a classic, white strip with a constellation-inspired design on the sides for away games and a striking blue for cup matches this season.
swcomms’ commercial director Jon Whiley said:
“As main sponsor, we get to watch plenty of Chiefs games and to meet the players, so we felt it would be an ideal opportunity to donate this particular perk to a fan. We are delighted Sara and her sister had a great day and we are very grateful to the club and players for making them feel so welcome.”
