A Whirlwind Of Success – To Become The Most Outstanding Business in Exeter
This milestone edition of the Grow magazine feels very relevant to us here at Air Marketing Group. As we begin arranging a new fit out of yet another office space, it gives me the chance to reflect on all that has happened since our launch back in March 2016.
Picture this, arriving back from Australia having been out of the country for the last 8 years and starting my professional career over there, I arrived back home with an ambition. The ambition – to take everything that I had learnt whilst working for and helping to run FMG (our Sister company) and open my own business development and telemarketing agency right here in Exeter.
As anyone who has started a business knows, it’s not easy. Far from it. You have moments when you start up the company (and even now) when you question yourself, the business, your sanity – but when you look back it really is worth it.
This year we celebrated 2 years of running Air Marketing Group. Within those 2 years we’d grown from a team of 1 (me) to a team of roughly 35. Outgrowing our original office at Brittany House and moving into our new ‘forever’ home at Queen Street.
But it doesn’t stop there. The commitment of our team has since seen us grow even bigger, recently reaching a milestone of 50 employees and then tipping over that number! The consequence of this incredible growth does, however, mean that our ‘forever’ home, won’t have even seen us the year – so there is another move on the horizon.
Alongside this, we have hit a few other milestones and business ambitions along the way. Having won in 2 categories for the Express and Echo Awards for Business Growth of the Year (over 25 staff) and Outstanding Business of the Year.
But the awards haven’t stopped there. We are delighted to be shortlisted for 4 awards in the British Excellence in Sales Management Awards (BESMA) in the categories of The Best Telesales Team, The Best Sales Employers, Rising Star of the Year for Marco Alfano-Rogers and Key Account Manager of the Year for Shaun Weston. Seeing two of our longest standing team members get individual recognition has made me proud.
2018 has been a busy year for the whole team at Air. You may have heard that we have also launched our sister company, Roots to Market, focused on delivering outsourced full-service marketing to compliment the services that Air currently provides its client base.
So, what does this success come down to? For me, Team Air are the reason that we have achieved, what we have achieved. Without the commitment, enthusiasm, tenacity and determination of the team we simply wouldn’t have achieved these milestones.
But that doesn’t mean we are slowing down yet. We are excited to celebrate even more milestones to come and watch this space for our new City Centre office seating 97 desks. More growth anybody?
