LOCAL SUMMER FESTIVAL GIVING FREE TICKETS TO NHS STAFF
After the huge impact the pandemic and lockdowns have had on events being cancelled, there’s sadly been further cancellations recently with the uncertainty of when COVID restrictions will be lifted.
One local business, Re:Fuel, has decided to do something a little special this summer for all the disappointed families and car enthusiasts looking for something fun to do over the summer holidays. Usually hosts of regular “Cars & Coffee” events in Devon on the third Sunday of every month, they have just announced that on Saturday 14th August they’ll be holding a summer festival in the beautiful grounds of the newly opened Winslade
Park in Exeter.
The ‘Re:Fuel Summer Festival’ starts at 10am and runs right through to 10pm. Just like their Cars & Coffee events, it will be both family-friendly and open to ALL car enthusiasts for all ages and marques of cars. The displays of vehicles from the early 1900s through to modern day supercars will be surrounded by street food stalls, a selection of bars and some of the Southwest’s most talented live bands and music artists.
For the kids there will be a large bouncy castle, and the big kids won’t miss out on the fun with an inflatable adult ‘Battlezone’.
A collection of the Southwest’s famous automotive names will have trade stands to browse, from car storage to detailing products, performance car parts and classic car restoration businesses.
As is the norm at the moment, admission will be by pre-ticketed entry only and these can be purchased at www.re-fuel.co.uk/tickets. There are currently Early Bird tickets available at £14.50, and £5 for under 16s. Any traders wishing to have a stand can contact the team via
email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NHS staff, however, can claim free tickets to the event. Director at Re:Fuel, Dan Regan, said:
“We’ve embarked on a few fundraising projects during lockdown, including raising over £15,000 for the Exeter Homeless Partnership with our Exe-mas Wonderland drive-through experience at Westpoint over the Christmas period.”
“As a region I know we’re so incredibly thankful for and proud of the whole host of frontline workers who have put their own lives on hold and at risk during the pandemic. But, in particular, we really wanted to do something to say thank you to all the fantastic NHS staff who have fought hard against COVID-19 and looked after and saved the lives of so many of our friends and loved ones.”
“Giving them all free entry to our Summer Festival to let their hair down and enjoy a great day out is the least we could do, and we hope everyone has an absolutely fantastic time”.
Free NHS tickets can be claimed on the ticket page at www.re-fuel.co.uk/tickets and NHS ID will need to be shown with the ticket at the gate on the day for admission to be given.
