Data platform with coloured words on a black screen.

At this full-day workshop our experts aim to give you an understanding of Microsoft data services and their infrastructure, as well as data platform architecture best practice. You will leave with a clear understanding of next steps for your business on the data modernisation journey.

The day will be split into two halves, the first will cover an introduction to the Azure platform and its infrastructure. Infrastructure services, data services and migrating from legacy to Azure SQL will all be covered. The second will cover data platform architecture best practice, Power BI, analysis services, Data Warehouse, and how to use these services to create something of value from your data.

Content covered will include:

  • Data Infrastructure and Platform Services
  • SQL Server 2008 (R2) end of extended support
  • Demo migrating to Azure SQL
  • Data platform architecture best practice
  • Power BI architecture and ETL
  • Demo Azure SQL, Logic Apps, Cognitive Services and Power BI

This event comes at a time when SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 end of extended support is on the horizon, and the ongoing expansion of the data that businesses keep, calls for a need to modernise data platforms.
