Eating disorders are multi-faceted – the person affected by binge eating will eat uncontrollably; anorexic patients try to keep their weight as low as possible by eating only very small portions of foods they deem as healthy. Sufferers from bulimia go through binge-eating episodes and purge afterwards in order to control their weight.
Often people affected suffer in silence; try to keep the symptoms and underlying causes a secret from friends and family. But an eating disorder does not only affect the person who suffers from it. It affects family, friends and work colleagues or school friends.
Teresa Bulford-Cooper and Carola Becker are working closely together to help patients suffering from eating disorders with their vast expertise in their fields.
Teresa, a former Harley Street Specialist supports patients by addressing their mental state with the use of clinical hypnotherapy and coaching techniques. Having been a past sufferer of anorexia herself she has inside knowledge and huge empathy with suffers of this destructive mental illness. Her unique treatments address low self-esteem, lack of confidence & start to build a better mental attitude towards food and body image.
Many sufferers have simply forgotten over time how to eat well and healthy. Carola Becker, certified Nutritional Therapist and Nutrition Coach, develops personalised eating plans for the patient, taking their physical and psychological needs and dietary requirements into account.
Her programmes will balance energy and mood; address gastrointestinal problems to restore gut health and help patients back to a normal way of eating for good. Carola works in close cooperation with Teresa and together they help patients to achieve both sustainable mental and physical health.
