New Startup: MYcha, the Devon Based Matcha Green Tea Brand
Of course you know all about green tea, but have you noticed matcha tea? Matcha is a type of finely powdered green tea made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, matcha has become a favourite of tea connoisseurs. Taking advantage of the demand for quality Japanese matcha is MYcha, a new Devon based matcha tea brand.
MYcha owner and matcha devotee Kelly-Anne said:
“As someone who has struggled to find authentic matcha tea, I started with the simple aim of helping people to enjoy premium organic matcha at home.”
Kelly-Anne’s matcha journey started in Japan in 2008. But it didn’t become part of her daily routine until much later when she decided to replace coffee with it completely. She says:
“Matcha contains less caffeine than coffee but is rich in L-Theanine, a rare amino acid, which works with the caffeine to provide an energy boost that can last up to 6 hours. The L-Theanine also helps you to feel calm, alert and mentally focused. And because matcha is packed with antioxidants too, it’s an easy way to add powerful health benefits to your everyday diet.”
Her single-origin organic teas are made from leaves grown in Uji, Kyoto, and are available online. There are two varieties: organic ceremonial matcha, and organic everyday matcha.
