Lady Astor Statue Appeal: Seven Days To Go!
In November, Grow Talk reported on the Lady Astor Statue Appeal which was launched last year and aims to build a statue on Plymouth’s Hoe to commemorate the first lady in parliament.
The Lady Astor Statue Appeal is on its final countdown with just seven days remaining in its Crowdfunding Campaign. So far, the appeal has raised over £40,000 towards their goal of erecting a statue in memory of Lady Astor.
Sending their thanks for all of the support they have received so far, the campaign is on its final push and invites you to join their appeal:
Buy your VIP ticket to the unveiling (which includes a champagne reception at Elliot Terrace, a stone and VIP viewing of the unveiling); or get your name engraved on a stone around the statue; buy one of our amazing Christmas presents; or get a child’s name in that time capsule.
Join the crowd of history-makers and help us see Lady Astor stand in Plymouth again.
Time is ticking so don’t miss out on this incredible chance to be part of celebrating 100 years of women in Parliament.
This is a project by the people for the people.
We are a Community Interest Company and this is not funded by anyone else apart from you. It’s your project.
You are the people who will make this happen.
Every single person who cares about equality, democracy and freedom can own a part of this.
Next November you will be able to stand on The Hoe in Plymouth and look at the first statue of the first woman to take her seat in the UK Parliament and proudly say:
“I made that happen.”
Seven days left to raise; let’s do this now.
