Elf Source & Sell Challenge – Businesses called to get involved

Local charity Exeter Leukaemia Fund (Elf) is launching a Source & Sell Challenge, an exciting new fundraising campaign for November with a plea for local businesses and their employees to get involved.

Elf Source & Sell Challenge

The Elf Source & Sell Challenge is a perfect way for colleagues to bond following a stressful few months weathering the effects of the pandemic. The Bargain Hunt meets The Apprentice-style challenge offers excitement right from the start. Teams of colleagues work together, face to face or virtually, to source three items to sell, with the aim of raising the most money for Elf.

Colleagues can compete individually, in pairs or form groups, or they could settle in-house rivalries by pitting departments or branches against each other. Alternatively, a company can enter as a team to see how they fair against other local businesses. Teams can then meet virtually, via an online chat, or face to face (following social distancing guidelines) to get those creative ideas flowing.

Participants are encouraged to think outside the box to find different ways to obtain their items to sell by calling on corporate contacts, suppliers, clients, local business neighbours and colleagues for support. Items such as gift vouchers, company products, service pledges, household clearance goods, money-can’t-buy experiences or crafts can be sourced either in person or virtually. Once they are obtained, the challenge is on to ensure they reach their maximum potential by selling directly or through an auction or raffle.

Elf fundraiser Gary Moore is delighted by the interest shown in the new campaign so far:

“We hope this exciting new campaign will bring lots of local staff teams together, either virtually or face to face, following a difficult few months apart. We urge as many organisations as possible to become involved to help us continue supporting patients and their families through this testing time.”

Over 600 patients with blood cancer or a related condition are treated at the RD & E’s Haematology Centre each week. Elf is always on hand to support them and their families throughout their journey. These are life-changing blood conditions, affecting not only the patient but all those close to them. Elf offers free individualised support to everyone who needs it. Our aim is to make life easier and less stressful during this very difficult time.

Local Business Support is Vital

Local business support is vital to Elf, enabling us to continue our work providing much-needed support to patients with blood conditions and their families.
