Salcombe Distilling Co. Launch Exclusive Limited Edition ‘Wolf Rock’ Rum

Limited to only 200 bottles and the first ever rum release from SDCo., ‘Wolf Rock’ (42.4% ABV) is displayed in a wooden presentation box, priced at £50 per 50cl bottle. Named after ‘Wolf Rock’ an iconic nautical landmark at the entrance to Salcombe’s estuary and marks the beginning and end of the 19th century voyages of the Salcombe Fruiters. Famous for carrying fresh fruits and spices around the globe, these sailing vessels often ventured to the West Indies to acquire a sweeter and more potent payload; sugar, molasses and rum.

Fermented and distilled a traditional 60-litre hand beaten copper pot still using molasses, unrefined sugar and a blend of yeasts selected by SDCo.’s Master Distiller with no other added ingredients. Unlike most rums, ‘Wolf Rock’ has no sugar added after distillation, nor is it darkened by the addition of extra colouring. This results in a rum with light golden colour and natural sweetness.
Remarkably smooth with layered complexity, ‘Wolf Rock’ has a sweet butterscotch nose, complemented by flavours of warm vanilla, mellow oak and hints of banana with an endearing, light chocolate finish.
‘Wolf Rock’ is best served ‘on the rocks’; a large measure of rum with plenty of ice in an old-fashioned glass or in a ‘Salcombe Stormy’ cocktail.

Twist of Lime
Topped up with Ginger Ale
Fill a high ball glass with ice. Add ‘Wolf Rock’ and a squeeze of lime, top up with Ginger Ale. Add two dashes of Angostura Bitters and garnish with a twist of lime peel.
