Cartridges Law Recognised In Regional Business Awards

Cartridges Law has been recognised in a regional business award for the work it does to support the wellbeing of its staff.

The company, which is based in St Thomas, was announced as runner up in the wellbeing category of the South West FSB Business Awards which took place on February 26th.

Penny Scott, partner at Cartridges Law, said:

‘We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award which recognises the work we have done, and continue to do, to support our staff. We know our staff are our most important asset and wellbeing is an extremely important issue for us.’

Cartridges Law, which employs 30 members of staff, was established in Exeter 50 years ago. The company operates one of the largest public law/children teams in the region as well as dedicated personal and business legal teams

As part of its commitment to staff wellbeing it has developed a large number of flexible working patterns and are responsive to staff requests. Additionally, in recent years the offices have been modernised for the benefit of staff, to include a peaceful garden, a useful kitchen where staff can prepare their meals, as well as a cycle rack and a shower for those who have an active commute to work. 

Other measures it has in place to support its staff are:

  • sitting/standing workspaces
  • free back and hand massages
  • access to confidential counselling when required.

Cartridges Law has also been shortlisted for an incredible four awards in the Devon and Somerset Legal Awards (DASLS) in the categories of employer of the year, team of the year, legal aid lawyer of the year for Faye Newbery and the rising star award for Leanne Yendell. The winners of the DASLS awards which will be announced at a ceremony in Exeter Cathedral on April 30.
