Sancho’s Fashion Revolution Week Events

Sancho’s Fashion Revolution Week Events

At Sancho’s, we want to be a part of this movement and encourage more people to get involved in and around Exeter. We have curated a list of workshops and events from Monday 23rd April til Saturday 28th, to spread awareness of the 3 M’s that need to change:

1) Model: The Business of Fashion:

For the past decade, companies have seen rising costs, driven by rising labour, raw material and energy prices. Yet, despite the higher cost of making clothes, the price we pay for our clothing is cheaper than ever before. This system is not working. We believe that the whole fashion industry needs a radical paradigm shift and that we produce and consume clothes needs to be transformed.

2) Material: People and Planet:

The harsh reality is that basic health and safety measures do not exist for many people working in fashion’s supply chains. 150 billion items of clothing are delivered out of factories annually yet Americans alone throw away approximately 14 million tonnes. The chemicals used to grow, dye launder and treat our clothes end up polluting rivers. These are all things that we believe need to change.

3) Mindset: Shifting the way we think:

We need to break our addiction of the need for speed and volume. We need to realise the true cost of our cheap bargains. We need to buy less, buy better and keep asking questions about the realities behind what we are purchasing. We need to love the clothes that we already own more, and work harder to make them last. Once we’ve started to think like this, the change.

To encourage others to join us on our mission of shifting the model, material and mindset of the fashion industry, we are holding the following events which we would love to see you attend:
