Celebrating Nine Years Of ‘Outstanding’ Care In Exeter With Bluebird Care

Bluebird Care Exeter are nine! Director William Flint reflects on his journey to success.

In 2011, William and Sara Flint opened their first Bluebird Care franchise in Exeter with a firm belief that they could make great care available to all that needed it. They wanted to ensure that this high standard of care would be delivered consistently, with professional, dedicated Carers at the core of the business.

Nine years on, riding some significant highs and lows, William is proud that

“Bluebird Care has achieved the stability and continuity that we hoped was possible. We have built a team that has proved in three Care Quality Commission inspections to be not just good but ‘Outstanding’… We want our team to be ‘chest-out-proud’ of what we do”.

In Bluebird Care’s first year of trading, Will and Sara expanded their services to East Devon then opened a third office in Exmouth in 2016. William says:

“It all happened so quickly, Our Exeter hub was thriving and we decided to take the leap and grow our business, thanks to our excellent team the gamble paid off!”

Bluebird Care has continued to grow, and 2020 sees William and his team bringing their award-winning locally based Live-in service to West Devon.:

“We have more than 18 live-in care staff who look after customers in their own homes. We are proud to help our customers to live happily in their own homes, safe and comfortable in their later years”.

William attributes the success of the business to

“gathering and keeping together a team of dedicated professionals who understand and share our values.  We have worked hard to create a vision for our team of what ‘Outstanding’ looks and then importantly empowering them to go and achieve this”

Bluebird Care also runs free wellbeing sessions around Devon for older people experiencing social isolation and have secured a minibus for 2020 to take wellbeing on the road. The purchase of this dedicated vehicle will allow the team to take the reach of this servce to the next level by helping those who may not be physically able to come to events.

Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care for CQC said of Bluebird Care:

“People are clearly placed at the heart of a well-led service which has an enabling culture. The caring and compassionate staff at Bluebird Care provide exceptional care where people feel valued and empowered.”
